The route across the province of Jaen enters from the northern part of the province of Grenada, crossing the provincial border just north of Pozo Alcón. The route makes good use of tracks to climb into the Sierra de Cazorla as far as Campos de Hernán Perea and then heads toward the source of the Rio Segura. It continues via the Sierra de Segura until it leaves the Parque Natural and then travels through villages in the northern part of the province that are far from the usual tourist routes.
