We leave Calañas heading south, and go by bridge under the new national road. We then travel parallel to the train tracks on a go trail which is easy to follow until a crossroads where the paved road starts. If we were to continue start ahead, we would come to La Torerera, an old mine that is currenlty a reservoir and ephemeral summer camp run by the regional government. We turn left on the paved forest track which after passing the Calabazal reservoir, desends to the national road which enters the town of Sotiel-Coronada. From here on we continue on asphalt, but not before climbing a never ending hill, until reaching Valverde del Camino.
